Up for sale is a rare (won’t find another set for sale at this time) and beautiful AJPE ( Alan Johnson Performance Engineering) Olds/DRCE/BBC Billet Big Chief Heads and Manifold Top End Package, built for Blown Alky-Boost-NOS.
AJ Olds Stage II Billet heads equipped with dual spark plugs, Titanium intake and Iconol Exhaust Valves,
AJPE Big Chief style Offset Intake + Exhaust rockers and Billet Stands, Sheet Metal Blower Competition Intake Manifold Port Matched to the heads for massive flow numbers and induction set up for a 871-1471 Blower.
Heads are complete with Valves, Titanium retainers, Locks, and Triple Valve Springs. Heads are perfect and ready to run. Valves look perfect. Heads have never been welded on.
These heads were used on 1st Gen DRCE Olds head stud pattern, (see the drawing attached for a comparison with regular BBC head stud pattern).
Intake Manifold, Valve covers & Headers are specific to these heads (not BBC!). The manifold is a competition custom build AJPE Sheet Metal Manifold Port Matched to the heads including a Burst Panel Assembly, Drilled for Mechanical injection including nozzles. This manifold is near perfect and is for a 10.7” Deck Height Block. There is plenty of material on the runners to have machined down to fit a shorter deck block if needed.
Also including the original Magnesium AJPE Big Chief Valve Covers and gaskets !!!
AJ Olds Stage II Billet Heads flow : .800 Lift is 480CFM , 328 CFM Exhuast.
AJPE mainly used K.B. Olds Blocks with these heads although some used DRCE/Olds 1 blocks as well.
Most were 4.440" bore, (a few were 4.375" bore). KB Olds / New Century / Arias Olds style block would be best choice for this set up.
Most Blocks were either 9.925" Deck Ht (smaller cid: 456 or 471 for TAD)
or
10.700" deck heights (525 cid PM or TAFC, 540 or 572 cid for pullers, ect)
If you have been in the market for a set of heads, Big Chief Cast Heads and Rockers alone as such would cost you north of $8500.00 to replace as is. This is a Complete Billet Top End Package that would cost $15000.00 retail to replace with AJPE.
